Dear SLE Families,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at SLE! We would like to introduce you to the Bobcat Club, the parent/teacher organization here at SLE. Our main objective is to raise money to support the Art, Music, Science, and Life Lab programs at SLE. In addition, we also help raise funds for teacher supplies, sports equipment, and school technology.
The following are some event highlights of the 2016-2017 school year:
- Square 1 Art: This is a new addition to our events this year. The students will work on an art project that will then be used to create a catalog of personalized products – perfect gift ideas for the holidays!
- Drive for Schools: This is a great fundraiser because all of the money raised goes straight to your student’s classroom, and you could win a new car!
- Read-a-Thon: A fantastic program with a dual purpose – to create excitement around reading for our students and to raise money for the school.
- Spring Auction: This is a wonderful adults-only event held at Roaring Camp’s Bret Harte Hall and is our biggest fundraiser of the year.
In order for these programs to be successful, we rely on our parent volunteers! There are many opportunities to help and we appreciate any and all of the time and effort you are able to donate.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 or $150 per student for the 2016-2017 school year. Direct donations are always welcome. Any amount helps us to keep these great programs going. Tax-deductible donations can be made at our website at http://donate.slvbobcatclub.com or by leaving a check in the Bobcat mailbox in the office.
Please join us at our monthly Bobcat Club meetings. Meetings are held in the SLE Library at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, starting September 13th.
